⚠️ Clinical Tool: This calculator is intended for use by healthcare professionals. Results should be interpreted in the context of individual patient factors and clinical judgment.
This risk prediction tool is based on a comprehensive analysis of 215 patients with pituitary adenomas, including 35 who received radiotherapy. The model demonstrated good discrimination (C-statistic = 0.82) and calibration (Hosmer-Lemeshow p = 0.42).
Risk Factors
The strongest predictors of new hypopituitarism include radiotherapy (OR 8.45), pre-existing hypopituitarism (OR 3.21), and macroadenoma size (OR 2.01). The calculator assigns points based on the relative contribution of each factor.
